Nadia the Knitter + Lupe the Dressform

I’m Nadia Lewis, a new Fashion Knitwear Designer from Vancouver, Canada.

My passions are knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and collecting vintage clothing + patterns — I’ve been doing most of these for almost 30 years now!

I’ve spent most of my waking hours thinking + talking about these topics, so now, at 36, I’m making the move to pursue these completely. The métier of Fashion Knitwear Design, specifically pattern design for handknitting, is what I want to spend my life doing.

I want to bring old school tailoring + glamour into modern knitwear. I want to slow down the process of both making + appreciating knit clothing. I want to help you thoughtfully + carefully build a wardrobe of knit pieces that you love, that feel like home. I want to make the world more beautiful + more at ease, one piece of clothing at a time.

I’m starting a new journal here to share my journey as I pursue my dreams: to move to Paris and work as a Fashion Knitwear Designer.

Here, I’ll be sharing my inspiration, my études, my design work, my challenges, my progress and more. I’m excited to learn a lot and to meet other fibre + design nerds along the way.

Let’s go!
